That Artist at - Sandvoet Studio

I am Barend Viljoen, the artist, and I work in a Boggoms Bay, a small village - (Population about 250) - on the South Western Garden Route of South Africa.

 

Most of my work unfolds from "en plein air" and "from life."

 

My chosen subjects are derived from my surroundings—the picturesque bay, the ocean, the surrounding farmland, and the people of the area.

 

I use oil, charcoal, and mixed media, obviously trying to capture the raw beauty of the Garden Route.
